Exclusive Space for Trade

The Trade Hall, dedicated to trade buyers, opens on the first two fair days (13-14 August 2015), where you can find an amazing array of worldwide food products. Exhibitors in the Trade Hall are manufacturers, wholesalers, suppliers, brokers and agencies with new and enticing food and beverage products for sampling and order negotiation. Group pavilions from Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Thailand, the Chinese mainland, the Philippines and the United States contributed their specialities in 2014.

New South Wales from Australia joined Food Expo 2014 with a trade pavilion for the first time and will continue supporting the fair this year and bringing a variety of high-quality, fresh and healthy products. Mark Sandiford, Sales Manager of Murray River Organics, an integrated producer of Clusters and dried vine fruit in Australia, said: “This was our first time participating at the HKTDC Food Expo 2014 and it was the best among the 15 shows we attended in the past 18 months! We are already exporting to Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and Singapore, and with the contacts gained at the HKTDC Food Expo, we hope now to commence servicing the Greater China market. The HKTDC’s business matching service did an amazing job for us! They organised meetings for us with some well-matched companies who were impressed by our products and very interested in working with us to import our organic dried vine fruit range.”

Another exhibitor from New Zealand, Tai Tokerau Honey, was at Food Expo 2014 for the first time, showing Manuka honey to the buyers. Twyla MacDonald, Marketing Manager of Tai Tokerau Honey Ltd, said: “The Food Expo was a great place to meet new buyers who could help us to expand into new markets. The quality of buyers was good and we made some new contacts that would be useful for the future. We felt that the Expo gave us valuable insights into Asian market and more specifically, the positioning of Manuka honey, the demand, the price points, the types of companies that are looking to purchase Manuka honey, and the uses it is intended for. We are definitely interested in attending the Expo again in 2015.”

Public Taste

Trade buyers can explore more business opportunities by visiting Public Hall through gauging public response to the products and collecting instant feedback of the huge local market. It is also the scene of lots of food-related activities and events, giving it a festive atmosphere. In the Premium Food Zone, you will see quality branded products, both new and established from renowned local exhibitors.

Top-Tier Taste Treats

The Gourmet Zone entices food lovers with global and high-quality delicacies. In 2014, over 70 exhibitors offered gourmet items at four theme zones: Western Delicacy, Asian Cuisine, Chic & More and Sweet Delight, presenting visitors with ramen, fresh seafood, premium coffee and wine, speciality cheese, jamon, abalone and many more.

When Business is a Pleasure

This is a great trading and public event, which is full of useful market information and fun. As well as the delights of food-tasting, there are cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, lucky draws, interactive games and seminars addressed by experts and insightful sharing by food critics.
