As the talk of the town and summer food feast annually, the HKTDC Food Expo enters its 26th edition this year. More than 1,100 quality food and beverage suppliers from around the world will present buyers their best selections at the fair.
The Trade Hall (Halls 5B-G) welcomes industry players to undergo business discussion on the first two days (13-14 August 2015), while it also opens to public ticket holders on 15 August 2015. This year we welcome new group pavilion from Ukraine, which brings dairy products, milk and grain. It joins returning pavilions from Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, Thailand, the Philippines, the Chinese mainland and the United States, as well as first-time participation from the United Kingdom exhibitor. The Halal Food Zone and Food and Agricultural Technology Zone are newly launched to showcase sector-specific products and technologies.

| The new Food and Agricultural Technology Zone introduces specialised agricultural and food technology applications which bring food producers good harvests with abundant yields and enhance quality control with better food safety inspection. |

A modified old cucumber is more suitable for one meal consumption, which is easier for storage. Clover Seeds is working on Southern Chinese vegetables to improve varieties, with the use of marker development and plant pathology to develop new breeds to catch up with market needs.

Preparation of Food Grade Capsules for Targeted Drug Delivery (PI: Dr. Yi Wang)

It is a novel food-grade capsule, which is made by food-grade, plant-based and under-utilized by-products. This method of capsule preparation can be broadly applied in both drug and health food industries.

Hybrid Irrigation & Husbandry System (PI: Dr. Gilbert Chan)
Using precasted and optional preseeded planting base originated from environmentally friendly agriculture waste, crop (mainly vegetable) are produced with minimal manpower and supervision. The System is suitable for both mass agricultural production to smaller scale family-based planting for provision of healthier vegetables.

The Public Hall, the centrepiece of the fair, runs from 13-17 August 2015. 30 famous brands of food and beverages, including Chewy, Kee Wah Bakery, Maxim’s Caterers, Nissin, On Kee Dry Seafood, Tai Pan, Tung Chun and Vita Green Health Products and more will be presented at the Premium Food Zone. |
